It's easy to underestimate the stress caregiving will place on your body and soul. To alleviate stress and give you some perspective, try to give your mind a break: long walks, journal writing, painting, the movies, cooking, or listening to music. During my dad's illness I had trouble sleeping and my body ached. By learning ways to relax, it was easier for me to stay calm and focused and be a better caregiver for my dad. Here's some exercises that might help you, too.
